Book fulfillment is storing printed books and shipping them to readers, bookstores, schools and retailers. Books are heavy for their size and margins are thin, so the shipping service matters as much as the warehouse: USPS Media Mail and Bound Printed Matter can cost much less than standard parcel rates for eligible items. YouParcel fulfills books, journals and other printed products for authors, publishers and brands from New Jersey and California, including launches, preorders and bulk orders.
Estimate Your Monthly Cost
From your printer’s pallets to readers and bookstores.
1. Receive your print run
3. Launches and preorders
USPS offers two lower-cost services for printed matter. Media Mail covers books, sound recordings and other educational media, with no advertising allowed. Bound Printed Matter covers permanently bound printed sheets such as catalogs and directories, up to 15 pounds. Both are slower than standard services and come with eligibility rules that USPS may check.
We ship each order with the service you choose for it, for example Media Mail for single books and a faster service for rush orders. Check the current rules on usps.com for your products.
A launch can bring weeks of preorders that must ship on the same day, followed by steady backlist orders. We hold preorders and release them together, and the holiday season and back-to-school get the same planning.
Books are often sold with merchandise, as box sets or as signed copies with inserts. We kit bundles and add inserts to your spec. Read more about kitting in fulfillment.
