FBA prep is the work Amazon requires before inventory can enter its fulfillment centers: an FNSKU label on every unit, bags or protective wrap where needed, bundles built and marked as sets, and cartons packed and labeled for the shipment. Since January 1, 2026, Amazon no longer preps or labels inventory for US FBA shipments, so sellers do it themselves or use a prep center. YouParcel preps your inventory in New Jersey and California, ships it to Amazon, and keeps the rest of your stock ready for every other channel.

Amazon ended its prep and item labeling services for US FBA shipments on January 1, 2026 (Amazon announcement). Labeling, bagging and bundling are now the seller’s job, and inventory that arrives without the required prep can be delayed or refused at the fulfillment center.
A prep center does this work for you before inventory reaches Amazon. It is especially useful when your goods come from overseas factories, when you sell bundles, or when you also sell on other channels and want one stock pool instead of two.
Keeping all of your stock inside FBA ties it to Amazon’s capacity limits and storage fees. Many sellers keep a reserve with a 3PL and send Amazon smaller, more frequent shipments. With YouParcel the reserve also fulfills your Shopify store, Walmart and other marketplaces, and retail and wholesale orders with EDI.

Our New Jersey center sits in the New York and New Jersey metro area, close to the Northeast and the Port of New York and New Jersey. Our California center is close to the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, a natural landing point for goods made in Asia. Sellers importing by ocean often prep where their containers land.
An FBA prep center is a third-party warehouse that receives your inventory, prepares it to Amazon’s requirements (FNSKU labels, bagging, wrapping, bundling and carton labels) and ships it to Amazon fulfillment centers. YouParcel runs FBA prep in New Jersey and California.
Not in the US. Amazon ended its prep and item labeling services for US FBA shipments on January 1, 2026. Sellers now prep inventory themselves or use a prep service.
